A brief introduction to the Branch:- we meet on the first and third Thursdays of the month at The Bold Forrester, Soberton Heath (3 miles North of Wickham, near the A32, and 4 miles from the M27, J10). There are 60+ members at present and turnout is regularly 20 or more (Hampshire is a large county). People do come from many miles around, with a real mix of age and experience. as an added bonus the Gold Star Owners Club meet at the same place same time.

In 2007 we repeated our 2006 success at the Billing Field Day in winning the Best Branch Stand award. Another excellent Annual Summer Camp, or Open Day was held in early August. The Camp features a renowned barbeque and runs out around the beautiful Hampshire countryside, and silly games for all.

We are already keenly looking forward to next years events. It is the 50th anniversary of the BSA owners Club. The Field day will be at the new venue of Wicksteed in 2008. The International Rally is in the Isle of Man in August, during the Manx GP practice week. This is going to be a big and exciting event.

Latest news:

We held our AGM in February and new Chairman Bob was elected. Other committee position incumbents remain the same. Last year we introduced an attendance competition, with credit given for attending meetings at all, more so on a bike, and most of all on a BSA. Just a bit of friendly competitive fun. Competition is hotting up for this year, now that the lighter evenings are here, but it's not too late to make your mark.

Last year the attendance competition was won by Bob Edney who shaded it from Jerry (should I go and get the Bantam) Kennett.

Five Branch members attended the National BSAOC AGM at Newbold on April 13th. Progress was made with regard to many and various issues and a new National Secretary elected. See "The Star" (club monthly magazine) for details. But the best news was that our Hampshire Branch won the award for most new members registered during the past year.  A round of self congratulation is in order for all of our members. It is the membership who make it a Branch people want to be involved with.

There are plenty of activities planned now we are well into the active season. Next is our St George's Day Run to Popham for a good breakfast. Russ Gurney is doing the organising. Meanwhile here is a short list of our main events Branch Runs and Events.
