The chapel was dedicated to St. Patrick, who
was believed to have been shipwrecked here in the 5th Century, on his way
to Scotland after fleeing from his pagan captors in Ireland. |

The Chapel ruins offer a superb vantage point for views of
Morecambe Bay. |

Close by the chapel is this row of 6 graves,
hewn with primitive tools out of the solid rock of the headland on the very
edge of the cliff. |
|

|
Two more graves at the other end originally had covers over them and
two such covers rest on the grass close by St Patrick's chapel.
