Another very long gap between updates. I've just got this from the IMDB site:

De-Lovely (pre-production)

Ashley Judd is set to portray legendary socialite Linda Lee Porter in a Cole Porter bio-pic starring Kevin Kline. In the movie De-Lovely, Judd will play Linda Lee, who was married to acclaimed composer Cole - even though he was gay. Linda Lee was a source of inspiration for such musical compositions as Anything Goes and Kiss Me Kate. After she died in 1954, her husband never wrote another song. The unusual love story will begin shooting in London from May 5, which gives Judd time to make the film and be back in America to begin rehearsals for her role as Maggie The Cat in the revival of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof.

The Blackout Murders (post-production)

A female police detective is set to a case where she discovers all the murder victims are her past boy friends.

The Husband I Bought

A wealthy woman falls for a Chicago architect shortly before his professional life is destroyed, only to lose him to a woman who can resuscitate his career.

High Crimes came out on UK DVD a couple of weeks ago. Only seven months after the US edition. Outstanding.

21 September 2002

UK readers be advised that Ashley is in the October 2002 UK edition of InStyle magazine. She's on the cover so you can't miss her!

28 August 2002

The US DVD of High Crimes is out now. I know that for a fact because it still hasn't opened in UK cinemas yet and I decided not to wait! Not a bad movie and is worth seeing Ashley do her "tough yet vulnerable at the same time" thing.

The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood opens in UK cinemas on 27 September 2002. Total Film magazine was unimpressed but said "the one glimmer of magic is Ashley Judd in the annoyingly brief flashbacks."

8 June 2002

Ashley's new movie, The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, opened in the USA yesterday. I've also just discovered her in the April 2002 issue of Flaunt. It's some sort of arty fashion mag or other. Finally I've added some of the pictures to the galleries. The rest will follow eventually.

22 May 2002

It turns out that Ashley is denying that she will pop up in the next Star Trek movie.

14 May 2002

I'm in the process of moving the Ashley pages to geocities. The new location is:
uk.geocities.com/hindgunship/ashley/index.htm
The pictures will eventually be added. In the meantime you'll have to read the words!

19 April 2002

Happy Birthday to Ashley who is 34 today.

I found an interesting news fragment during the week. Apparently Ashley claimed on a chat-show that she has a cameo part in the new Star Trek movie due at the end of the year. Ashley of course played a character called Robin Lefer in two episodes of The Next Generation about ten years ago. If you want to track them down the episodes were called "Darmok" and "The Game".

I've finally seen Animal Attraction a.k.a. Someone Like You on rental. It's fairly lightweight but is an entertaining little movie that has Ashley all the way through. She carries the movie and manages to look adorable in every scene.

6 April 2002

Just an alert. Ashley's new movie, High Crimes opens in the USA this weekend. It's a legal type thriller and I understand Ashley does various lawyer type things. Here she is reunited with her Kiss the Girls co-star, the very-good Morgan Freeman.

15 February 2002

Yahoo news reported yesterday that Ashley Judd was in negotiations to star in Blackout, described only as a "female-driven gritty thriller" due to go into production in the summer.

11 December 2001

Okay, so it's been months since the last update. I've had a couple of nice email about the site that have reminded me that it exists, so the least I could do is an update before 2002 arrives.

First the big news... Ashley Judd and Scottish racing driver Dario Franchitti are to marry in Scotland tomorrow, December 12. If I find any nice pictures I'll stick them online.

Last week Yahoo news reported the following:

Castle Rock has purchased the psychological thriller pitch Untraceable as a starring vehicle for Ashley Judd.

Judd has never before attached herself to a pitch deal, but the Double Jeopardy star sparked to the chance to play a woman whose identity is not at all what it seems to be. She is next expected to star in the title role of the Warner Bros. film Catwoman, with will soon go out to directors. The hope is that she would follow that with Untraceable.

"She's a woman with an identity disorder who discovers she's not the person she thought she was for the past eight years, when she is reintroduced to the life she repressed," said Gibgot, who will exec produce. "It's her journey as she uncovers and confronts the devastating memory which caused her to take on the other identity. I created it for (Judd), and she connected to the character and has contributed a lot of ideas."

Judd will next be seen reteaming with Kiss the Girls co-star Morgan Freeman in the Carl Franklin-directed High Crimes and starring with Sandra Bullock and Ellen Burstyn in the Callie Khouri-directed adaptation of Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood. She also appears in Frida, the Julie Taymor-directed biopic of Frida Kahlo that stars Salma Hayek.

Finally Someone Like You has been and gone in 2001. The UK title was Animal Attraction (interestingly the movie was originally going to be called Animal Husbandry in the US). This week it's just been released on video and DVD in the UK. Hugh Jackman from X-Men also stars.

7 April 2001

It's been forever since I've updated this page. So to make up for it I've added a bunch of stuff. Firstly there are eight new photos on the new Gallery 3 page. Secondly I've updated the Movie List which was at least a year out of date. Just this week I read that Ashley is playing Catwoman so that's on the list too. I've changed the logo. I've added four more Links. I'm sure there are many more that I am missing.
