Hi!
We're Chris and Sarah Howes from Swansea, and have had a six-month African adventure.
Visit this web site to find out about our journey, which started in Uganda in April 2005 and ended in South Africa in October. You can also contact us using the details in the link opposite.
We spent the first 4 months of our trip in Kisiizi, Uganda doing voluntary work for Tearfund.
Kisiizi is a large village in South Western Uganda. There is a large hospital, school, church, shops, and waterfall in the village. The waterfall provides hydroelectric power to the village.
We were there as part of a team of 6 people.

Tearfund is an evangelistic Christian charity who supports partners in many countries around the world. Teams of volunteers are sent to areas where they can contribute to ongoing projects for either a few weeks or for four months. To find out more see the Links opposite.
Tearfund is one of many charities supporting the 'make poverty history' campaign this year, again see the Links.

We saw more of Southern and Eastern Africa after August. We left Kisiizi and travelled to Nairobi, Kenya where we joined an Overland Club tour. We were on the tour for 6 weeks, travelling through Tanzania (Serengeti), Zanzibar, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls), Botswana (Okavango Delta), Namibia and South Africa.
We finished in Cape Town and then flew to Johannesburg to spend 10 days there with family.

We returned to the UK on October 13th, with a decent tan and with lots of stories and photos.
