| What is mei2eit? It's an EPG Loader for the Topfield TF5800PVR that will allow extended EPG information from a MyStuff.mei file to be used by the inbuilt Toppy EPG and other TAPs that don't directly support mei files. When run the standard Freeview EPG information will be replaced by that from MyStuff.mei. I'm assuming users will be familiar with the Topfield in general, and MyStuff Extended Info files in particular. Without a way of generating a MyStuff.mei file the mei2eit.tap is useless. I generate MyStuff.mei using Wooders rt2mei platform independant generator, but there are other ways such as Bawbagg's excellent MyStuff_Extended_Info. If you want to find out more about these I refer you to the Toppy.org.uk forums, and to those authors homepages. You can configure an exit key for the TAP (e.g. Mute key). This can be done by editing mei2eit.ini, the value of 0 will disable exit. Also in mei2eit.ini are other items of interest such as a list of TimeShare channels which limit the TUTV channels and others to the hours they are broadcast on Freeview. There are many other options in mei2eit.ini. You can configure the number of days of EPG information loaded for each channel, and the format the information is returned in. You can change from dynamic loading of the EPG on demand to static loading of the EPG. You can specify favourite and excluded genre. Please refer to the ReadMe.txt file for details. The mei2eit.tap is still an early beta, so be prepared for possible problems. Please post any feedback on the TAPs forum on Toppy.org.uk. |
