A few photographs of my 1959 Invicta
These first five pictures were taken approximately 10 minutes after delivery. The car was filthy after some 8 weeks at ports, and delivery yards, but she still managed to look a million dollars
Perfect weather for a soft-top.
All the way from New Jersey to the UK, and this was the first time I'd seen her in the flesh.. I was not disappointed
The only thing that did disappoint was that I could not get in and take her for a drive, as she is not yet registered for the road
The seats show signs of use, but all the switches feel just like brand new, and everything is reassuringly solid
Two hours later, after a good wash and polish, an even more beautiful car emerged from under the dirt.
Pity about the modern cars behind, but thats life
The only thing that doesn't work is the washer pump. That'll be done as soon as the repair kit arrives
Well, how could I resist! I backed out my hardtop to compare the two
Two of the finer, sorry fin-era, things in life
I'm not sure, but if I might just be able to get another one in the driveway (sorry, daydreaming - again!)
Hardtop and Soft top
I'll never get over the sheer beauty of these cars.
By the way, the hubcaps were in the boot, and by the time you read this, some nice wide whites will have been fitted
