Orchid Cancer Appeal
I have for some time been planning to use the interest generated in my race to raise awareness and money for a charity that does awesome work in a field that is very close to home.
The charity is the Orchid Cancer Appeal and they are involved in ground breaking research and treatment in the field of men's cancers. Yep that does mean what you think it does! They are, amongst other projects, trying to make sure that we all get the family jewels checked out regularly, both by self examination for Testicular Cancer and blood tests for Prostate Cancer.
This is not something that only the boys should be aware of, but all of you wives and girlfriends who want your guy's tackle to be in good working order, get him to look after it. With Prostate cancer we are talking about the cancer that affects more men than any other, yep more than lung cancer.

Please note that this charity is for real and not one of those multinational concerns with a fund raising number and funds that seem to be used to pay thousands of staff. The sum that is needed to fund Phase 2 of Orchid's ongoing project is £8 million. Please help them to succeed.
