Over 30,000 children were cared for in Quarriers children`s village between the late 1870` and mid 1980`. More than 7,000 of these children were relocated to Canada the last being sent over around 1936, they were employed mainly as farm labourers, my uncle was one of them. He my parents and two aunts were all Quarriers children, you will get to know them through this site. Many of the stories we hear of life in the village and in Canada are horrific, however there were also happy tales as well. If my parents did not meet in Quarriers then I would be a completely different person, I therefore am grateful to Quarriers in that respect. This site is dedicated to my family and all the rest of Quarriers children.
