61 years have passed since the WPK declared its birth throughout the world.

It is a proud history shining with victories and glories.

There are many parties boasting of long history, tradition and feats in history of the world politics. However, there is no such a party as the WPK which has recorded only victory one after another overcoming all trials and storms by its wise guidance and correct lines.

The WPK dignified with its victorious history is more brilliant today as the ever-victorious party, the revolutionary party leading the independence cause of the popular masses to victory under the leadership of great leader Kim Jong Il, an experienced and seasoned political veteran.

Immeasurable is the sacrificial devotion leader Kim Jong Il made for the sake of strengthening and developing the WPK into the party of comrade Kim Il Sung and the Juche-oriented revolutionary party for more than 40 years since he started the work at the WPK Central Committee.

Leader Kim Jong Il made efforts to imbue the whole party with the revolutionary ideas of great leader comrade Kim Il Sung in the mid 1970s and has continuously strengthened it on the basis of the monolithic system of ideology, theory and method of Juche with the unrivaled foresight and scientific insight.

In the 1990s when the socialist cause was undergoing unexpected crisis due to the collapse of the former Soviet Union and other socialist countries in Eastern Europe leader Kim Jong Il demonstrated the historical inevitability of the revival of socialism publishing a series of immortal classic works like “The Historical Lesson in Building Socialism and the General Line of Our Party”, “On the Fundamentals of Revolutionary Party Building”, “Abuses of Socialism are Intolerable”, “Socialism is a Science”, “Giving Priority to Ideological Work is Essential for Accomplishing Socialism”.

Indeed, leader Kim Jong Il is a great benefactor who saved the progressive parties of the world entangled in ideo-political chaos from the crisis by his gifted ideological and theoretical wisdom and extraordinary leadership.

Today the progressive mankind is highly admiring the lofty moral obligation of leader Kim Jong Il who is adorning the brilliant history of the cause of perpetuating the leader through strengthening the WPK into the party of comrade Kim Il Sung, and is convinced of victory of the cause of socialism and independence.

The south Korean people also are extolling the WPK, greeting the significant October.

They say:

“The WPK enjoys the absolute support and trust of the people through protracted struggle and has been developed to an invincible party that realized the single-minded unity of the whole party with rich experience and tested leadership ability.

Being such a party it is surmounting all the hardships and gaining victory only despite the ever-intensifying moves of the imperialist allied forces to stifle north Korea, demonstrating its tremendous might across the world.

The reason north Korea’s socialism is so strong is because of the rock-firm unity of the army and people armed with the great Juche idea with the Workers’ Party.

The WPK will win only victory for ever.”

The south Korean people are now optimistic of the independent reunification of the country through the victorious leadership of the WPK.

The extolling voices for the WPK, heard everywhere in south Korea, are the expression of the south Korean people's boundless admiration and trust toward leader Kim Jong Il who is unremittingly strengthening the WPK to the revolutionary party of Juche, and a reflection of their ardent praise for the WPK led by him.

The great exploits of opening the beginning of the Korean revolution will shine for ever

 

October 17^th is the significant day of the formation of the Down-with Imperialism Union (DIU), the first genuine revolutionary organization of Korea.

On October 17, 1926, 80 years ago, President Kim Il Sung, the great man borne of Heaven, formed the DIU, the first Juche-type vanguard organization.

The immediate task of the DIU is to overthrow Japanese imperialism and achieve Korea’s liberation and independence, and its ultimate aim is to establish socialism and communism in Korea, defeat all imperialisms and establish communism throughout the world.

When the President formed the DIU he was in his teens.

History has recorded a lot of the great men famous in their young ages.

But there is no such a great man as President Kim Il Sung who formed a revolutionary organization such as the DIU, pledging to undertake the destiny of humankind as well as that of the Korean nation in his tens.

This fact is enough to prove that President Kim Il Sung is the greatest saint.

The formation of the DIU was the first step of the President’s full-fledged revolutionary activities and a declaration of the new start of the national liberation revolution in colonies and a historical watershed opening a new phase of the Korean nation’s history.

It was a historic declaration announcing the new start of the Korean revolution.

Since then the Korean revolutionary movement and national liberation movement could break off the outdated generation contaminated with flunkeyism and dogmatism and greet a new era advancing on the principle of independence.

The formation of the DIU was the starting point of the struggle to found a new-type party, Juche-oriented revolutionary party different from the preceding parties.

The program of the DIU became the cornerstone of the WPK, its principle of independence the principle of the building and activities of the WPK and the revolutionaries of new generation brought up by the DIU became the backbones in the building of the WPK.

It was also a historic announcement of a new start of the national liberation cause advancing on the principle of independence.

But for the torch of the DIU which was set afire lightening the dark under the Japanese oppression, the Korean nation could not get rid of the fate of ruined nation and the shackles of colonial slavery.

Thanks to the revolutionary struggle the great President launched upholding banner of the DIU, Korea could be liberated and the nation was resuscitated.

The formation of the DIU by great President Kim Il Sung was a brilliant event opening a new history of the Korean nation and the beginning of the new era of mankind.

The banner of independence upheld by the DIU opened a brilliant chapter in history of the liberation struggle of the Korean nation and gave birth to a new era when the liberation cause of humankind advances on the strength of Juche.

Therefore, it is quite natural that taking the spirit of the DIU as the banner of the struggle for life and dignity becomes an irresistible trend of the south Korean people whose sovereignty has been tramped upon by the outsiders.

Today the south Korean people are ardently praising the spirit of the DIU saying:

“The spirit of the DIU is the root of the proud tradition of our nation, the ever-lasting treasure and motive inspiring all the countrymen to national prosperity.

The spirit of the DIU is a spirit of anti-imperialist independence and the tradition of the DIU is also the one of independence. It is a torch of struggle bringing about the dawn to south Korea bereft of light due to the pro-US submission.

The banner of the DIU is a banner of national salvation for ever.”

So passionate are the reverence of the south Korean people toward great President Kim Il Sung who performed the undying feats for the country and nation upholding the banner of revolution and patriotism by forming the DIU, and their faith to glorify his exploits and behest.
