Public admiration for the great man

 

The south Korean people charmed by the appearance and the immortal feats of leader Kim Jong Il hold him in high esteem as the father of the nation and the lodestar of reunification of the country.

In south Korea many Internet publications reflecting the ardent reverence for leader Kim Jong Il by the south Korean people charmed by his lofty virtues and characteristics have being disseminated.

A report titled “Kim Jong Il Opens the Door of Reunification” carried on the “Hana Computer” homepage some years ago recorded photos of Kim Jung Il who is making energetic activities for the country’s reunification and pictures of south Korean people who’re looking up to leader Kim Jong Il as the sun of the 21^st century and the leader of the national reunification.

Write-ups are often carried on the websites of different organizations including the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the National Alliance for Democracy and Reunification moved the hearts of the people.

And a radio station established on its internet site the “Popularity Program” page to introduce the greatness of leader Kim Jong Il, recommending the subscribers to widely browse the materials related to the people's reverence for the leader.

It becomes a firm sentiment of the south Korean people to absolutely trust in and follow great leader Kim Jong Il.

 

 

 

Opposing the negotiations for the south Korea-US FTA

 

Now in south Korea the struggle against the negotiations to conclude the FTA between south Korea and the US is intensifying day by day.

On July 10 press conferences were held in Seoul with participation of members of the All-People Movement Headquarters to Check the south Korea-US FTA, the Solidarity of Civic Organizations grouping 400-odd civic organizations, the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the Federation of Korean Trade Unions and AFL-CIO.

Speakers there stressed that if the FTA is concluded south Korea would inevitably plunge again into the swirl of the business restructuring for the sake of the US capital and the people's living would be jeopardized, calling for the immediate stop of the anti-popular negotiations.

On July 13, rallies of the representatives of agricultural and fishery sectors to check the south Korea-US FTA were held in Seoul with the presence of members of peasants’ organizations.

At the rallies the participants, condemning the conclusion of the FTA will result in the rendering of all farmers to the US, strongly urged the government to halt the treacherous acts at once.

They also called for further intensifying the solidarity struggle between the press, labor, farmers, youth and students, the poor and other civic organizations.

That day 15 religious organizations including the Missionary Solidarity Council of Christian Society called a press conference in Seoul and bitterly condemned the conclusion of the FTA as a downright treacherous act.

The attendants of the press conference and rallies of July 10 and 13 staged an unflinching demo and sit-in strikes to block the negotiations to conclude the humiliating FTA despite the merciless suppression of the police.

 

 

 

Solidarity activities of the ASSP(UK) (in June and July)

 

The Korean Central News Agency, Korea Central Broadcasting Station, TV and the newspaper Rodongsinmun reported on June 1 the activities of the Association for the Study of the Songun Politics (UK) which introduced the undying exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung for Korea’s liberation and the freedom and happiness of the people on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Association of Restoration of the Fatherland, and the south Korean people's anti-US anti-Japanese struggle.

They also introduced that the ASSP(UK) set up a special homepage “Red Banner of Songun” in cooperation with the Songun Politics Study Group (US) to introduce the greatness of leader Kim Jong Il on the occasion of his start of work at the Central Committee of the WPK, and the atrocities committed by the US imperialists during the Korean War on the occasion of the Month of Joint Struggle against the US.

The news media also reported on July 4 on the joint seminar the ASSP(UK) sponsored with other solidarity organizations on the occasion of the Month of Joint Struggle against the US and the articles “Leader Kim Jong Il, great man of the century” and “International Support to Korea’s Reunification Further Increasing” which were carried on the UK Songun website on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration.

They reported that the ASSP(UK) carried on July 14 an article headlined “US Imperialists, Provoker of the Korean War” and its statement on the Internet on the occasion of the Month of Joint Struggle against the US and on July 18 it made public a statement denouncing the joint military drills codenamed “RIMPAC 2006” staged by the US and its allies.
