Membership Dear Juniors Thank you for your membership fees we now have a total of 35 paid up members.
Your English Squash membership has been sent to English Squash and you should receive your membership pack in the next couple of months.
Boxes (Goudie Racket Challenge ) I would like to thank all of you for your support and playing in the boxes. Last month we have had 22 juniors playing in the Boxes out of a max 32.
Somerset Junior Squash A new Somerset Junior Squash Committee was recently formed and they are working hard towards creating Somerset Junior squads to play County Squash at Under 13s 15s, 17s, and possibly under 19s. This should all be in place to start at the beginning of season 2004/2005 in October.
There will be Level II coaches allocated to each team and squad training arranged for every two months. They will also be looking for volunteers to manage each team, hopefully from the parents.
Handicap Tournament The Handicap was disappointing as I expected to run it with 20 Juniors but only ended up with 12 on the day. Next year if I do not get the commitment I shall be reluctant to run it again. I was also disappointed at the number of people who stayed for the presentation, only 5. The Tournament was won by Alec Peace and runner up was Ross McErlain.
Somerset Partnership Games The Partnership Games which were held on the 12th June were a great success. Although we were unable to put out our strongest two sides we won the under 15s and came runner up in the under 13s. I would like to thank all the parents who came along to support their children. I think you would agree they all played extremely well. The Final took place on the 10th of July at Milfield and the under 15s again were successful in winning the tournament
. Congratulations to you all. B-B-Q The B-B-Q was also a great success with over 40 people attending. I would like to thank again, all of you who helped to make it a success. King Alfred Junior Squash Club awards These awards were presented at the B-B-Q, they were :-

All juniors will be sent an entry form but if you do not receive one I have plenty. There are competitions in U13, U15, U17, U19 both boys and girls. There is also a mixed under 11 competition. I would like to see as many as possible of our club members enter. Many of you have a great chance of coming home with a medal
