New members are given help and instruction, to bring them up to A-Certificate flying, and further if they wish. Some members do competition flying. Members are required to pass a flying and safety test before being allowed to fly without an instructor. The reasons for this are pretty self explanatory, as safety has to be paramount. Insurance is required to fly at the DKMFC airfield. The club is affiliated to the Model Aeronautics Council of Ireland (MACI), and members joining the club also become members of MACI . MACI membership includes model flying insurance. If you are not a club member, then please arrange with a DKMFC club member before flying at our site as a guest. Proof of insurance will be required before flying permission is given.

	Safety Notes & Pre-Flight Checklist	This is the safe practices from MACI, (Irish model flight governing body) . We recommend all model fliers thoroughly read and familiarise themselves with this. If you follow this pre-flight checklist, you will have fewer accidents and crashes, and your models will give you good flying fun for longer.
