| Latif Yahia |
| Latif a Captain in the Iraqi military was taken from the front in the Iran-Iraq war, to be brought for inspection by Uday Saddam Hussein. Uday, in need of someone to take the bullet for him, as the Iraqi people became increasingly aware of his reputation for rape and sodomy. Summoned Latif, remembering the likeness between them from their schooldays. Although only four days separated the births of Latif and Uday, they could have been twins. Latif was born to Yahia Latif and Gulbahar Al-Salihi on June 14th 1964. They lived a happy and prosperous life in an affluent area of Baghdad, Al-Aadamiya. Latif's father Yahia was one of Baghdad's wealthiest businessmen, dealing in import-export, marble and the manufacture of decorative brass tableware. For the first eleven years of his life Latif lived blissfully unaware of his "twin" with his younger brothers Jotie, Omeed and Robie and sisters Gulalla and Juan. It was only when Latif attended Baghdad's School for Boys, an elite secondary school, that the boys became aware of each other. Uday, who's father Saddam was still just Vice President but extremely powerful, also attended the school and there the similarity ended. Latif was an avid student with a thirst for knowledge. Uday on the other hand, had already begun his descent into hedonism. He came and went as he chose and openly had his bodyguards do his homework for him. Uday disrespected his tutors and completely disregarded the rules. Uday's class-mates awaited his arrival daily, all with one question "what will Uday do today?" All of Uday's antics were ignored, dismissed except one. Uday brought a girlfriend to school. Baghdad's School for Boys was just that, a school for boys. It was a very proper establishment and this could not be tolerated. The professor of the class fumed, this was the straw to break his patience, he approached Uday. CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE |
