 Background

"Listen To Web" was established on 03/dec/2002 as the separated part from my private website. I remember that it started in 1998 or 1999 originally.

I'm not a native English speaker (and also not good at English :-) but I love hot AC (adult contemporary) and AC stations. There is no hot AC/AC stations in my country. And the only way to listen to the stations is to play the streamings on the net.

In later years, I'm very sorry that the US stations have been forced to give up their streamings because of the copyright fee issue. Some US stations are coming back on the net but most of them are on "narrow-band" and with poor sound. They use Windows Media Audio protocol. But I think the sound of WMA is not natural in higher frequency. It seems so artificial. I like mp3 and real. I don't want too much treble on narrow-band streams.

Now I usually listen to some canadian stations in broad-band mp3 streams on 56 or 64k. And I have found some US stations coming back on the net.

On the other hand, I love Casey Kasem's program, hot AC version of American Top 20 (AT20). I always seek for the better streams that are playing AT20 in good sound. Former AC edition of American top 20 has become to American Top 10 (AT10). But I think the program plays "Extra" songs too much. The songs appearing as "Extra" are also played on hot AC/AC stations everyday. It should reduce "Extras".
