Let Me Tell You ABout Steve Turner's 100 Wonderful Goals by David Townrow

From Jaffa Talk Issue 15 - End of 2001-02 Season

As you all know, STeve Turner hit his 100th goal for the Dukes this season by completing his hat-trick of headers against Silsoe Park Rangers on 29th April 2001. We now profile his all time record.

Steve made his debut on 10th November 1991 against High Town in a 5-1 defeat with Dave Joyce scoring that day. His first goal followed as he smashed home a penalty in a Luton Sunday League TT Trophy game against Independent. Other scorers that day were Dave Joyce 3, Panos Vasiliou, Martin Burrell, Barry Hughes 2, Craig Horseman, Jim Manton, Martin Rattigan (who also missed a penalty).

Steve went on to get 3 goals that season but has been in double figures every season since, except 1998-99 when he made only 8 appearances.

His best return was this season on 18th February 2001 with a four-goal haul against AFC Oakley. He has also scored 3 hat-tricks and 18 braces.
