Volleyball Season Approaching
Volleyball training sessions at Slead Syke Sports Centre (Brighouse High School) start on Thursday 4 September at 8.30 pm. Everyone welcome. Don't miss it!

National League Training 2008/2009 announced
From 27. August, NVL Men's training is on Wednesdays, 7.30 - 9.30 pm and Sundays, 7.00 - 9.00 pm at Thornhill S.C., other fixtures allowing.
This is a brand new sports hall, with a sprung wooden floor, in Thornhill, just outside Dewsbury. Dates and times to be verified. Contact coach for more details.

Boathouse enjoyed a successfull summer season
Participating in various outdoor tournaments, Boathouse players managed to win a stormy Redcar Tournament and Boathouse/Leeds V.C. combined teams succeeded at York Tournament and Hawks Tournament.

Volleyball Goes Outside
4 June 2008. Starting tonight and every Wednesday, weather permitting, we will be playing on the rugby pitch at Whitcliffe Mount Sports Centre from 6.30 pm. Come on down and perfect your beach volleyball skills.

Hawks Outdoor Tournament
Hawks Volleyball Club have announced that their 4th 4 v 4 Tournament in Cleckheaton will take place on Sunday, 3rd August 2008. Players of all abilities are welcome. More information and a registration form can be found here.

Annual General Meeting
The club's AGM is on Thursday 15 May 2008 at Whitcliffe Mount Sports Centre, near junction 26 of the M62. The meeting starts at 7.30 pm. If you want to have your say or even get involved in the running of the club, make sure you are there.

Kieran Plays Against Denmark
8 May 2008. On Thursday night Kieran O'Malley made his 2nd Great Britain appearance, against Denmark in the European Championships. GB won 3-2, with Kieran making brief appearances in 3 sets, replacing the 6ft 9 GB captain, Ben Pipes, and serving out the final 2 points of the match. The return leg is in Denmark this Saturday. New Venue at Thornhill

New Sports Hall

Boathouse Volleyball Club will now be playing their home matches in a brand new venue, Thornhill Sports Centre. This is a new sports hall with a sprung wooden floor, built with money from the Big Lottery Fund. The sports hall is attached to the Community Science College at Thornhill (formerly Thornhill High School), but is also available for outside bookings through Dewsbury Sports Centre.

Boathouse will making links with the local schools, to develop the next generation of volleyball players. If you want to play volleyball, at whatever level contact us and come along to one of our training sessions. During the volleyball season (Sept - April), the men train at Thornhill on a Wednesday night and the women train in Brighouse on a Thursday night. There is an open session at the same venue and time as the women's training. Local league matches are played on a Sunday evening, at Thornhill. Shared transport to training and matches can usually be arranged, from almost anywhere in West Yorkshire.
