Way, way back in 2003 there was an idea, a bright idea, to build our own house and so the search began for the ideal plot. With Martin working in Essex and Susie in Milton Keynes the criteria was really anywhere in between... The usual websites were searched and then one day in July 2003 an entry on one of the sites was found for two plots in a village called Wilden.  Ideally situated in Bedford, close to the A1 (for Martin) and the A421 (for Susie) it seemed to good to be true!  The sites were up for sale by sealed tender. As you can guess by the fact this site exists, we had our bid accepted for one of the plots.  For the full story, please see the diary.  For those that can't be bothered to read that part all you need know is that on the 3rd October 2003 our bid was accepted and so began the long drawn out process to completion, and then actual building!
