Our climate is unique because, within a relatively tiny region - about 400 km from east to west and 200 km from north to south - you’ll find:
• temperate areas where rain falls throughout the year (south of the Outeniqua Mountains – the George – Knysna – Tsitsikamma districts)
• temperate areas where rain falls in winter (west of George and south of the Outeniquas - the Mossel Bay – Riversdale – Heidelberg districts) and
• the semi-arid Little Karoo (the entire sub-region north of the Outeniquas)
