Michelle's Monkeys

My name is Michelle Keighley. I am married to Darren and we have 2 daughters Jade is 10 and Amber is 3, so I have the best possible experience. We also have a pet rabbit Jake. I am registered with OFSTED. Both my husband and myself hold current police check certificates.

I am registered to care for 6 children under 8 years old. I take part time and full time and also do local school drop offs and pick ups.

We live in the Leeds 12 area and my daughters attend Whingate Primary School. We live in a semi-detached house with ample enclosed garden space including a chip-barked play area.

Your children will be able to participate in numerous activities, including sandpit, trampoline, playhouse, swings, and slide outside, and prams, cars, dressing up, ball pool, instruments, paints, playdough and sticking indoors.

I aim to be able to take your child on outings. These will include local playgroups, soft play areas, parks, feeding the ducks and the library. From time to time I endeavour to be able to take your child further afield on day trips.

My aim is to provide a safe and caring environment for your child, I will encourage your child to learn for themselves and be able to make their own choices and decisions. I will work closely with you to gain knowledge of your child and their experiences. I acknowledge that you the parents are the primary educators of your child and I aim to provide the best possible care for your child

Being a childminder means I am different from a nursery as I can only look after a certain amount of children at any one time and therefore I can offer lots of individual attention to the children. I also provide a homelike environment and this seems to appeal to parents as they know the child has all the comforts and security of a home setting as well as having other children to play with. I look after children of mixed age so your child will learn to be comfortable around older and younger children.
I am also extremely flexible which comes in handy if either parent works shifts, I can also offer care for your child from babyhood right through to secondary school which means your child will have a great sense of security and continuity whilst with me.
