My inspiration for this practical philosophy site came from a huge variety of sources including Taoism, Buddhism
(particularly Zen or Chan), Yoga, Pantheism, Chi Gung and some Sufi mysticism. In addition innumerable philosophers from
both East and West, Chaos theory, Native American spirituality and my own experience within Martial Arts and life have
enriched the process.
The following keywords have brought you to this site: Practical, Philosophy, Taoism, Pantheism, Chi, Gung, Yoga,
Zen, Chan, Buddhism.
The Native American worldview
suggests that the world can be seen as a great bird and that we, and everything else that exists, are contained within its
belly. From the point of view of someone raised in a Western, Christian,
Capitalist and Rational society, it is perhaps more accurate to say that we are all cells within a single great
living organism. This great living organism, has many names but I refer to it as the One, as it is by definition everything
and the source of everything. This site and the philosophy espoused within its pages is an attempt, from the point of view
given above, to re-evaluate science, religion, philosophy, ethics and our own personal world view. Not an alternate
religion (we have more than enough of those already) but an alternative way of looking at our lives and our world
that still manages to be rational and not a vague, weak, feel good theory. Healthy skepticism and constructive
criticism are welcomed in our attempt by a process of purification; physically, mentally and spiritually, to remove
illusion and confusion and restore our true or natural selves and our happiness.

Midnight Murmurs - Practical Philosophy with the emphasis on practical. There are numerous books, groups and
websites dedicated to endless debate of a philosophical/religious nature, what makes this site a different is the practical
aspect.
After spending about a decade philosophizing and attempting to find knowledge and the truth I began to realize that we are
the Truth. From that point onwards I decided to spend my energies on purifying and revealing the true "me" that already
exists inside using direct, practical methods. These methods may be found by following the links above, however I recommend
that you visit the Getting Started section which contains suggestions for gently intergrating
various practices into your life.
Brief note; This site is, and probably always will be, in an unfinished state please feel free to make
suggestions and criticisms, they all help.
