Burns: it's between me, McRae and Gronholm

WRC - 23rd January '03

2001 World Rally Champion Richard Burns believes the 2003 title fight will between himself, team-mate Marcus Gronholm and arch-rival Colin McRae. Speaking before the start of the Monte Carlo Rally, the Peugeot driver admitted, to the surprise of many, that he would be looking out particularly for McRae.

"There's no denying Colin made the right decision to move from Ford to Citroen, and because of that I think he'll be even stronger this year."

Englishman Burns believes the known speed of the Peugeot will make his team-mate and defending champion Marcus Gronholm a force to be reckoned with along with Citroen new-boy McRae: "I've no doubt Colin, along with my team-mate Marcus will be my biggest challengers in the championship."

The season starts tomorrow in the south of France for the classic season opener, the Monte Carlo Rally where Burns will be hoping to keep one eye on the road, and another on his chief rivals.
