Penske Racing could run G-Force and Dallara chassis in this years IRL Indycar series.
It is reported that the team have purchased two G-Force chassis to evaluate their performance against their current Dallara-Toyotas. The move is rumoured to be in preparation for this years Indianapolis 500 in May. Previous tests earlier this season suggest that the G-Force may have an edge over the Dallara cars on superspeedways like Indianapolis.
The move could see Penske run G-Force cars at Indy and the other superspeedways that the IRL visits, switching back to Dallara's for the championship's slower ovals. The current IRL rules do not prevent any team from running different cars at each round of the championship and are free to run whichever combination they believe will be fastest.
Penske have won the past two Indy 500 races with Dallara-Cheverolets piloted by Helio Castroneves.
