Mistakes in spelling, grammar or style result in a negative
impression. Your work will be rejected or will fail to have the impact
you desired.
Computer spelling checkers are no help. The following
sentence has four errors, none of them found by a spelling checker:
The boy kicked he ball threw a whole i
the wall.
The correct sentence is of course:
The boy kicked the ball through a hole
in the wall.
It is notoriously difficult to spot errors in your own work. You are so
familiar with it that mistakes or inconsistencies are easily missed.
