Eldwick is a real place, on the side of the Aire Valley between Bradford and Keighley (just above Bingley), while Nibbleswick featured in Roald Dahl's book, the Vicar of Nibbleswick, one I enjoyed in my youth, so I have set this in a little known of valley between Airedale and Wharfdale.

This gives me scope for prototype landscape modelling at the Eldwick end, with freelance at the Nibbleswick end.

The layout will be set in the 1960's, as although by this time most narrow gauge concerns had closed or got very run down this is the period I prefer for my standard gauge modelling (so that both steam and diesels can be used together), and who says the NER couldnt have been more fortunate?
