 Entertainment
Of the five world class golf courses on the Island, two can be found at within 1/4 mile of Riviera Villas at the Lucaya
Golf and Country Club. The Lucayan Course, designed by Dick Wilson, tests precision rather than distance. It's home to
one of only two Butch Harmon schools of Golf in the world and offers golfers of all levels the opportunity to improve!
The Reef Course is a contempory links-style course that brings water into play on 13 of it's 18 holes.
The colourful Port Lucaya marketplace is a shopper's paradise, teeming with duty free bargains. Overlooking the Port Lucaya
marina it's home to elegant shops and boutiques selling imported jewellery, fine china and glassware plus a straw market
selling locally produced handicrafts. At it's heart is Count Basie Square,
named after the famous jazz entertainer, this square lies at the center of Port Lucaya's entertainment district. At any time
of day, tropical beats can be heard emanating from this popular open-air gathering spot. The square's busy events calendar
commonly includes parades, festivals, calypso and limbo dancing. The area is constantly bustling with activity. Fuel the party
spirit with Bahamian Kalik beer and Rum cocktails served up at several lively bars and restaurants that conveniently overlook the square.
Guided Kayak Nature Tours allow visitors to the island to enjoy the tranquil surroundings of the Lucaya National Park. You
kayak through mangrove creeks to reach the empty, pristine sands of Gold Rock beach for a swim and picnic. Then take a guided
tour to discover the island's diverse ecosystems, and visit the Lucayan caves to hear about Grand Bahama Island's first inhabitants.
