Flights

American Eagle flights to the Grand Bahama Island are via Miami and Ft Lauderdale in the USA or Bahamasair via Nassau, Bahamas into Freeport International Airport (FPO). The airport offers US pre-clearance facilities, Bahamian Customs and Immigration clearance. Flights to Freeport are also sometimes available direct from Chicago in the USA but if you choose this route check with the airline before traveling as this flight can be re-directed via Miami.

Car

From the Airport it is a short 10 minute drive to Riviera Villas on Coral Road. There are numerous car rental companies at the airport and rates can vary quite a lot between the different companies. See the Useful Information page for details of some Coral Reef of the rental companies available. From the rental car pick up point leave the airport and turn left onto Grand Bahama Highway. After approximately 1 mile turn right into Coral Road. Continue on Coral Road crossing East Settlers Way, East Explorers Way, East Pioneers Way and Gambier Drive to the traffic lights at East Sunrise Highway. Go straight ahead still on Coral road to the T-Junction with Bahama Reef Boulevard, turn left still on Coral Road to the crossroads with Royal Palm Way. Continue straight across this junction and Riviera Villas is 200 yards on the right. Parking is turn right just after the last of the three buildings. Total distance from the airport is approximately 7 miles.

Taxi

Taxi's can be hired directly outside the terminal building. Before entering a taxi it is advisable to agree on a price for your journey and this may vary according to the size of your party. Zoned Rates for up to and including two passengers fom the airport to Coral Beach is approximately $19. Metered rates are $3.00 for the first quarter of a mile and 40 cents each additional mile. Additional passengers over the age of two years are $3.00 each. Tell the driver you wish to go to "Riviera Villas at Coral Beach on Coral Road." This should be enough information to get you to the apartment.

Maps are freely available from the airport in a "What-to-do" booklet. Apartment #17 Riviera Villas is on the upper floor of the center building at the Coral Road end of the block. The complex office is in the ground floor apartment of the same building at the opposite end.
