Cardinal Cox
Cardinal Cox has been having his writings published in numerous small-press publications for twenty years. His poetry grew out of the bands he and his friends had as teenagers, one of which (Sonic Energy Authority) has found its way into the novels of a handful of sf authors. (CD's obtainable from Frankenstein Sound Lab www.frankensteinsoundlab.co.uk) The Cardinal's own science fiction poetry has appeared in such collections as Dreamers on the Sea of Fate (Sol Publications 1999); Star Trek - The Poems (Iron Press 2000); 2001: A Science Fiction Poetry Anthology (Anamnesis Press, USA); and, most recently, Dreaming Scryers True Deceivers (Hilltop Press 2004).
In December 2002 he was appointed the fifth Poet Laureate of Peterborough and in the following year had poems in over twenty different publications in Britain, Europe and North America. He also wrote cycles of verse for Peterborough Museum (www.peterboroughheritage.org.uk); local comic shop The House on the Borderland (www.house-on-the-borderland.co.uk); read at a festival in Oxford; and was Poet in Residence at the weird fantasy convention 'They Came And Shaved Us' in Dundalk, Ireland (www.theycameandshavedus.com).
A few of his poems can also be found at Expos'd (www.exposweb.net) and his collection of edgier, more issues-based verse PNUK can be found on the Peace and Freedom Press website (http://uk.geocities.com/p_rance/pandf.htm).
