Here you will find two Asterisk Sudoku sample puzzles and details of the original Asterisk Sudoku eBook by Peter Sudoku.
They were previously known as Peter's Sudoku which got confused with Peter`s Sudoku.

In standard Su Doku there are 27 areas to consider.Nine columns, nine rows and nine boxes.
Each of these must contain exactly 1 to 9.
If you can solve a standard sudoku then you can solve a Asterisk Sudoku.
Best not to try to solve it online as I may change these samples at any time!
If that one was too simple for you, here’s one to really get your brain working. You don’t
need to muck about entering microscopic digits into the cells to solve it. Nor do you need to
guess and see what happens.
Would you like my eBook containing 117 examples of this new type of puzzle?
Some are easier than the first puzzle. None are much harder than the second.
And there is a full range of levels in-between.
Asterisk Sudoku by Peter Sudoku contains not only 117 puzzles (with answers, of course) but full cell by cell solutions with reasons.
So if you should get stuck on a puzzle you can not only get a clue, but also see why you needed one!
I’ve given a few eBooks away, as you do. And been given a few pints in return.

At the risk of sounding condescending, as the eBook is
in PDF format, you will want a PDF reader. Get one without charge from
adobe or
foxitsoftware .
I expect that you will want to print up to 117 of those pages.
So a printer would be handy (even an old monochrome one will do).
Compiling Sudoku puzzles is a hobby of mine. And sharing them is great fun.
I’m going to ask you for just a small donation.
About the price of a good cup of coffee. Less than week’s newspapers with nasty computer-generated puzzles. Less than a pint of ale in a pub.
I construct each puzzle by hand and then perform these checks
A “perfect” sudoku is one where none of the clues can be removed to leave a solvable puzzle.
Having done all that I take a good look at the puzzle and the solution. If they doesn’t please me, I refine it by deleting cells, adding new ones and repeating the process.
Then I produce the solution. Not just a grid with the results. A full solution giving the stage by stage moves required to obtain the answer. Complete with reasons for each move.
We a talking about 4 to 6 hours for EACH puzzle! More for the symmetrical ones.
This is all before the construction of the eBook.
More detail.

In Asterisk Sudoku there is an additional area, shown on the grid by shading nine specially selected cells.
Those nine cells must also contain 1 to 9. Giving a 28 Area Sudoku.
Here’s an easy example for you to try. Why not print it and give it a go? It's a printable puzzle. Or save it to look at later.
But if you can finish it in less than an hour give yourself a pat on the back.
It’s a PDF, 252 pages A4, less thab 800KB with 117 original handcrafted puzzles and fully detailed answers.
And the graphics are better than those shown on your screen!
I would to share these puzzles with you.
In standard Sudoku a 17 clue Sudoku is considered to be the minimum. But a 15 clue Sudoku is very solvable in Asterisk Sudoku.
The puzzles are one to a page with preformatted work spaces.
But making puzzles and turning them into a PDF does take up an amazing amount of time.
So I’m going to ask for a small donation for a copy of the eBook. So that I can spend
less time at the day job and more time making puzzles.
-------> the puzzle can be solved manually
-------> the puzzle has just one unique solution
-------> the puzzle cannot be solved as a standard sudoku
-------> the puzzle is “perfect” (except for some of the very easiest and some of the symmetrical puzzles).
