Fowler family tree (Rutland, Leicestershire & Peterborough)

As a trial I’ve exported part of my family tree from Generations as a text file then saved it as a web page. If by some chance you’re also related to these people then please get in touch! Contact me at: p g r _ f o w l e r a t y a h o o d o t c o d o t u k .

My wife has spent much more time on her family tree so I’ve a lot of catching up to do.  The “Fowler” side was researched for my uncle about 15 years ago.  I’ve added some names for the “Twelvetree”, “Thompson”, “Lea” and “Weed” branches. I’ve tried to sketch out the tree this spreadsheet to make them easier to understand and the latest list is in this Word document. Here’s an rft file containing an Ahnentafel report of my tree which I exported from the Sierra Generations software package. For some reason it won’t export the htm version with the hyperlinks to aid navigation.

The “Fowler” family seem to have come from the Peterborough region of what is now Cambridgeshire but what was part of Northamptonshire for many years. My grandfather, Percy, was born in South Luffenham, Rutland on 8th June 1901. I’ve been advised not to include details for any living relatives because of the potential for their names, birth date etc to be used fraudulently.

As I said, my wife is much further along than me. Here’s a summary of the Spences, Hamiltons, Blacks, Grays, Crawfords, Kerrs, Munros, Airs etc etc – hundreds of names – many of whom came from central Scotland. If you’re related to any of these people then please contact Jacky at j a c k y a t s p e n c e a t y a h o o d o t co d o t u k. Here’s a link to Jacky’s Ahnentafel file.

Jacky’s also undertaken quite a lot of research into my first wife’s family tree. On one side of her tree, most of her ancestors came from North-East Scotland. The other side came from the Strathclyde area and Carlisle in England. Here’s a link to that Ahnentafel report. Jacky’s just started to create her own website on Geocities.

We’ve both posted our family trees on Genesconnected.co.uk and Ancestry.com and have already had a couple of people get in touch this way. I’ve also had someone contact me through the Rutnet Forum.
