Better Late Than Never. |
Ok, so I didn't spend two months in Italy, I just couldn't face updating. Like before progress is slow, and though stuff does happen once in a while regarding this it's not much anyone would really be interested in. I've redone episode 5, which we determined was too long and rushed, and now spans two episodes. These have temporarily been aptly named Episode 5a and 5b. As a consequence, episodes 6 and 7 are undergoing an overhaul, making the current progress page out of date by some way.
I aught to point out that all signs suggest that an average episode of forced could run as long as 20 minutes. Hence the 5a and b changes. It sounds a lot, but with any luck this is an overestimate.
We also got around to film a short extract to test out fighting. Then because it wasn't so fun just with the fight alone we added in our own voices as the characters in it. Boy, I love that kind of testing. Hilarity ensues.
From here it looks like all we're truely waiting on are Hapslash's clones. I'll come to update the progress pages at some point. Probably after I've finished the whole 5a-7 changes. Don't expect them soon, I've got university work to balance them with again. Until next time then.

Outlook not so good. Try again later. |
I'm beginning to have real doubts about how this is going to work come Septemeber. First off the lack of voices is really going to be an issue, second Hapslash's clone pack (Which I was planning to use for our clonetrooper in Forced) looks like it won't be out by then. Thirdly, I'm beginning to get bogged down in the large amount of things I have still to do. I finished Sykes' shaders off finally, but there are still more characters to even start yet. I took the time to write a little script a day or two ago and it looks great, but I don't know if it's going to be enough. I need encouragement and perhaps not so much of feeling as if I'm doing everythng for a while, that might get me in the mood for action.
As usual I was fooling around with Jedi Academy, but by a stroke of luck (I needed it) discovered that a map I required for filming was already made (sort of) by ravensoft, and was already in game. I was really dreading finding a decent lit desert, but this gets at least one of the many problems I see out of the way.

I'm headed away again, this time to futher off to Italy. Again, I will be back, but who knows what shape this will be in. Maybe by then I'll be in the mood to write more, but don't count on it.

Nothing To Report |
Ok. It's just a monthly update to say not much is happening. I figured over the summer I'd find the time to get more script written and finally get around to sort ing all those models and skins out, but that's going very slowly. I also figured by this point I'd have settled on all the names, which also isn't the case. We have all the names for characters for up until half a series, so it won't affect production, I just wanted to get it out of the way and haven't.
For those who don't accept I've done near on nothing, I did complete the second droid skinning, and have been working on the basic one for the Jedi medic, Sykes. I'm having to put a little more effort into doing this one shaders wise, so it's taking a while, and with other commitments I'm not finding the time.
Also it's my sad duty to inform whoever actually reads these things that many of those who agreed to voice a character have either stopped responding to any e-mails I sent, or simply decided it wouldn't be worth the hassle. I don't know what that says for my leadership with so many dropping out and it IS going to have an effect on the September productions.
Oh yeah, and the forums are deceased. It's not even like a mortuary there, although it would be if there was at least one mortician there. No, it's more like an abandoned mortuary buried under Atlantis or some other forgotten location. Maybe it's even on the moon. I don't know what I'm getting at, but I'm not at all surprised it's slowed to a halt there. Pity though.
So, for anyone who is still around, enjoy the summer. I'll try to update a little more if anything starts happening.

A Week Of Work |
I'm back for just over a week, and have to knuckle down to work to make sure I can get the second version of the scripts out. Because I'm back, I've updated the progress pages with the work I did while I was away. It's a bit disorganised I must admit, but there's something about working chronologically I just don't do.
I should be around until about the 8th, but we'll see. All being played by ear this summer. Until then...

Forums are back up completely, seems like all the old posts are back (now you can see how horribly unactive I was on them!). I promise I'll keep up a lil' once Mark gets back ;)

Just a small note, I've just realised Mark set up my email wrong and hence I've only just found 1 email, any others that may have been sent will have been sent into my junk box and deleted >_< so if there's been no reply my apologies. It's working now... On another note, the teaser trailer just needs a few things done to it. However Mark will finalise it once he gets back. Sorry for any problems that have arisen lately!

Hi all, just thought I'd post so that Mark thinks I'm actually doing some work ;) j/k. Anyway moving on. While Mark is away, feel free to contact me to pass anything on or discuss things. You can contact me at: ricky@forced.cjb.net
You may have noticed our forums have gone down lately (all posts have been lost), this is due to some technical problems at EzBoard after they were hacked lately. Check out http://p079.ezboard.com/fezboardimportantannouncements.showMessage?topicID=504.topic for more info.
I'd also like to take the opportunity to say thank you for anyone who has volunteered to help with this project and also to anyone who has visited this site ^^
Have fun, til the next update. Cya then!
P.S. Mark I fixed a broken link on this page :p (home didn't work and anyway why would you want to click home on the home page? lol)

Before I Broke |
A brief update. The scripts for the first four episodes have been cleaned up and heavily edited, then packed off to all the voice actors. As of yet we have had some form of feedback from about half of the team, but this will hopefully grow as people have the time to look at them and form opinions from them.
Writing has been pretty slow of late, but may yet increase. As a compromise, we should have another skin for one of our characters which can be viewed in forums.
It's also unlikely I will be online much throughout the next two to four weeks, so replies to any e-mails and my participation on the forum will be considerably reduced. I'm handing the whole management over to Ricky in the intermission, even though I have yet to tell him any of this... If you have any questions or feedback for us, he's the one to go to for the moment. Or just post on the forums, that'll do.

Crack Open The Bubbly |
Ok, it's a minor milestone for us. 200 guests have visited the site, wasted precious seconds of their lives, and it's all because of us. True, about 80 of those will have been me so maybe not so good as it looks. In reality we probably have only had about 60 ish guests, but 200 sounds better so I'll stick with that.
It's also the one month anniversary of the forums. As a gift to us, the forums have now been inundated with popups. What can I say; looks like the way it's gotta be unless we pay. Still, no real problem. We can live right? Right? Anybody?

The Writer's Bloc |
For anyone following the British election, you may have noticed that I did not win as planned. Oh well. I will just have to wait a little longer for that kind of power. Maybe next time I might even get a vote :P
For everyone else, a small update. With the end of the University year for me, scripting is now continuing and hopefully at a greater pace. I have updated our progress pages accordingly.

In The Face Of Adversity |
Due to some minor technicalities I lost the original main page, so all but one previous post has been lost. Still, it shouldn't matter too much, since in reality all the lost pieces were only me giving very minor updates. So as not to disappoint anyone, here's an even smaller one.
We've recieved word from a few people willing to voice, but not yet enough. Thanks to everyone who did volunteer by the way. Also, I've been working on skinning one of the models we don't yet have. I will probably post more pictures on the forums when it's near completion.
Edit 11/05/05: The old posts have been retrieved thanks to Ricky and google.com now having us on their system. I did think we'd seen the last of the lost posts, but obviously not.

The Hunt For Cast, Crew & A Good Name |
Ok, not a great deal may have seemed to have happened, but things have been transpiring slowly behind the facade. Our priority at present is to get a full cast of voice actors, and while we have attempted to bring more people on staff, our efforts have not yet resulted as well as we would have hoped.
With any luck, we should be posting for cast and crew on Machinima.com in the not too distant future, in the hope of raising some attention there.
Also, due to various reasons I will be changing my site name from Darkmark to Liquidator Mark. This may still not be perminent, and I apologise for any confusion this may cause.

Where Is Everybody? |
The forums are now up, which I'm moderately happy with now. Membership is free, and realatively easy, so go on. I'd love to find some perople genuinely interested in participating in some form or another. Changes to the forum will still occur, but less so now. Nothing big. Like I say, that's pretty much all up nicely
So on the matter at hand, promoting what we're going to do. I know I'm being impacient, but interest in this site has been almost non existant (Did I say almost), so there seems only one reasonable solution.
TEASER TRAILER
So now I need to come up with some kind of teaser trailer, with only about three voice actors and only two decent computers on the network. But not just that, I need ideas for what the hell I'm going to do. Gimme suggestions on the forum if you want. I do need them.

For Forum |
For anyone who is vaguely interested, we now have a forum up. It'll take a while before I get a proper link to it on this page, so for the meanwhile, it's at: http://p097.ezboard.com/bforced
It's likely to change a little, because the default look is, well, default. Give me time to give it a 'forced' uniqueness. Give me time damn you, TIME!
Seriously now, please feel free to post any questions you might have there, in general discussion. Even if it's not really relevant at this point, anyone's welcome to post, and we'd really appreciate any feedback at all. People willing to assist in production would be a godsend too...
Come on community, don't let me down...

The Second Coming |
Sorry it's taken so long to get updated, but then again...Easter.
What we can now look forward to now, are the humble beginnings of those initial tests I'd been wanting to start. So watch this space. I've had no feedback what-so-ever about this whole thing, so the obvious update will be the forum I've wanted since day one. Until then, keep yourself occupied with the arrival of a counter. W00t.
I know it's not much, but progress has been good recently. Check our progress section for specifics regarding this. Have fun. Until we meet again...

The Glorious Welcome |
Welcome all to the humble beginnings of "Forced". This project is currently in the development of an online comedy based in the Star Wars universe, and acted out within the game Jedi Academy. While to reveal a great deal about the workings of it now would be unnecessary, I realise to hook people into watching I'm going to need to explain a little about it. Set around the planet of Tatooine, well after the events in the films, our series will follow the exploits of a group of Light Jedi who are pitted against the forces of the Dark Jedi and Imperials. As time gets closer to the stages where series 1 script is mostly complete, more will be revealed in our About section.
I would very much like in time to get a forum up and running, but only feel this is necessary if any of the community supporting us feel this would be a useful and productive course of action. If you have any questions about "Forced" please feel free to contact me by selecting my name from this post, or from the address in our Contact section.
Heres to hoping "Forced" will continue as strongly as we feel for it.
