MATCH REPORTS:
Leslie Hearts 0 Rosyth 11
Unfortunately I wasn`t at this game due to work commitments, but I think the scoreline probably tells most of the story
Rosyth 6 Lochgelly 3
Rosyth won this fiercely contested Scottish cup tie that could have gone either way until the last 10 minutes. The home side were stunned when Lochgelly went ahead in the first minute, but battled back to equalise through Gavin Bridges, playing at right back today. Dean Ogg made it 2-1 just on half time after a good move down the right flank involving Gavin Bridges & Paul Montagnani ended in a quality cross from Bridges for Dean Ogg to nod home.
Rosyth didn`t lose the lead, but Lochgelly matched them goal for goal until Rosyth buried them near the end with goals coming from Paul Montagnani, a peach of a free kick from Joe Houston and a brace of fine goals from late substitute Steven Thompson.
Wemyss 3 Rosyth 6
This game sparked into life near the end with a 4 goal blitz in the final 10 minutes. We almost lost some of our smaller players in the long grass, but Rosyth managed to control the game after 2 first half goals, the first from a corner powerfully nodded into the net by Johnny Small followed by another header, this time from Kenny Bulstrode.
The teams went in at the interval at 2-1 and it looked like this might be the final score until Dean Ogg showed he is back with a vengeance by scoring 2 and an unlucky Wemyss defender scored an o.g.
Wemyss staged a bit of a comeback to make it 5-3 but Andrew Daniel put the game beyond them with one of his trade mark up and unders which the keeper seemed to have covered, only to spill the ball into the net.
Rosyth 8 Grieg park 3
Rosyth came back from 2-1 down to eliminate Grieg park from the Fife Cup in style. Once they put thier trade mark passing game into action Rosyth never looked back after the early fright of being behind for 5 minutes or so.
Goals included a hat trick for Johnny Small & a curling free kick from a tight angle that would have done David Beckham proud from Paul Montignani.
Altogether a good team performance with a fine individual display from Small.
Rosyth 9 St.Monans 0
St. Monans caught the backlash from last week`s defeat by Kelty Hearts.Hat tricks from Andrew Daniel & Paul Montignani plus goals from Calum Perry, Joe Houston & Johnny Small, saw Rosyth (who were wearing their new blue strips kindly supplied by Leisurezone bowling complex)ease into the third round of the Scottish cup.
Kelty Hearts 5 Rosyth 0
Rosyth appeared to be sleepwalking through this match & didn`t seem to be able to wake up till the second half, but by then it was too late & Kelty deserved their win
Rosyth 6 Grieg Park Rangers 0
Another convincing win for Rosyth who are at last getting into their stride. The opening goal was a bit fortunate, coming from a corner which was taken well, but the only player to attack the ball was a Grieg Park defender who headed past the keeper into his own net.
Greig Park took it on the chin & still battled hard, but Gavin Bridges netted number 2 from close range, This was only Gavin`s second league goal after scoring 5 in pre season Friendlies. Five minutes later Paul Jukes scored from the spot After wing king Gavin Bridges was brought down in the box.
The game became a bit bad tempered with 3 bookings & a sending off for Grieg Park in the second half, and a booking for substitute Kenny Bulstrode for Rosyth, but Rosyth continued to pass the ball well & refused to get dragged into a battle and were rewarded with 2 goals from Paul Montagnani & 1 for Stephen Thomson to secure full points and record another clean sheet.
Rosyth 6 kinghorn 1
A comfortable win over new comers Kinghorn saw Rosyth cruise into the second round of the Scottish cup.Goals came from Kenny Bulstrode(2),Andy Daniel with a superb 20 yard lob, a header flicked on from a corner saw Callum Perry claim his first goal of the season, and 2 goals from Stephen Thompson, who is relishing his new strikers role wrapped up the tie for Rosyth.
Ladybank 0 Rosyth 5
A second half goal blitz gave Rosyth full points in this game, played on a lovely late summer afternoon. Only one goal seperated the teams at half time scored by Kenny Bulstrode, although Rosyth had plenty of chances including one spell where the ball bounced around the goal line for ages before it was cleared by a relieved Ladybank defence.
Goals came in the second half from Kenny Bulstrode, Joe Houston, Andrew Daniel & Steven Thompson. Jamie Dalglish had little to do in the second half to record his first clean sheet of the season and help secure three points.
Rosyth 1 Inverkeithing 1
This local derby finished even, with Inverkeithing scoring first & Rosyth equalising almost immediately through striker,Kenny Bulstrode, signed in the close season from Inverkeithing. With both teams fielding players who played for the opposition last season this was probably a nervy occasion for both teams especially as the boys would have to face each other at school the next morning.
Rosyth probably deserved full points, but are yet to hit the form in the league that we know they are capable of. No doubt this will change soon.
The midfield seems to miss the grit of Thomas Anderson who unfortunately broke his leg in the first game of the season,Get well soon Tam.
