I have just finished my a-levels, recieving an a in geography and a b in biology and sports studies.  I am currently working on the elderly care unit of my local hospital as a physiotherapy assistant.  After this marine conservation expedition I intend to go to university to study physiotherapy.  When i am not working I am fundraising for my gap year expedition, learning to drive and seeing my friends. To fundraise I have been writing to local companies and grant making trusts, to ask for sponsorship.  I am also in the process of contacting the local press.  I have also been producing hand-made cards to sell, and I am planning to go to a jumble sale to raise further funds.

Travel is one of my interests and I plan to have visited all 7 continents by the time im 30! After Borneo and the rest of Malaysia, I really want to visit Brazil, Iceland and the Grand Canyon.  Learning about new cultures intrigues me and I strongly believe in protecting the environment and in conservation.  For example, I have done many litter picking walks cleaning up my local area. I am also very interested in sport and have represented my county playing basketball.  I regularly practice Yoga.  I have  also got a Community Sports Leaders Award, so that I can coach others.
