SEASoN
South East Alternative Science Network
SEASoN is a group of people united in the belief that
science is something that we can all do, and is not just limited to the
confines of laboratories and institutions. Science is about the process of
looking at the world and asking questions. It's about taking responsibility for
what one does with knowledge, and about recognising the validity of different
ways of understanding.
SEASoN organises
hands-on science activities mainly, but not exclusively, for children in
SEASoN was formed
in December 2001, initially as a group of people keen on the idea of staging an
event of some sort for the 2002 National Science Week. We formally adopted a constitution in November 2002. SEASoN comprises members of Wealden Home
Educators Network, Hastings Home Education Development
and Empowerment (HEDGE), Kent
High Weald Project, and Scientists for
Global Responsibility, amongst
others.
UPCOMING EVENTS
SEASoN is aiming to apply
for funds from the Lottery “Awards for All” scheme in order to run more
activities and get additional equipment, including a wind turbine. Watch this
space for updates.
