Retired and living in a small village in the beautiful countryside of North Yorkshire, UK. I am married to Jim, an ex US Navy man, I have two daughters and one son, four granddaughters and one great granddaughter, three year old Sophie, and a great grandon, six month old Joshua, born December 2004. Jim has two daughters, one grandson and one granddaughter.
I like to write, mostly poetry and short stories, but I am working on two separate novels, one a thriller and the other a historical novel.
I have had poems published in a number of Anthologies and our local newspaper, The Malton Gazette & Herald. A book I co-authored with my friends Pamela June Kimmell, Dana Smith-Mansell, Evie Maedel, Carolyn Horton and Georgia Richardson released by publisher Heliographica,August 2005, 'Pink Jasper: Gems from the Journey' ISBN 1933037059, is now available from UK distributor Blackwell and also from Amazon.com & .co.uk It is a collection of poetry, essays and short stories chronicling our personal life journeys, projecting a wide variety of emotions, from deep grief to boundless joy. There is spiritual awareness, divine celebration and challenge. Though we are separated by continents, we share common stories and experiences. I also contributed anecdotes to Theresa Mancuso's book 'Cats Do It Better Than People' which was published earlier this year (2005) by Adams Media.
I also enjoy crafts, especially crochet and knitting.
We both love nature and wildlife and we have a house full of cats, Sammy Jo the matriarch, Tiger Lily, Timmy, Calli and Rappy. We also have a regular visitor from next door, Calli's admirer Tosh, a beautiful black cat who likes to spend a lot of time with us.
Walking and photography will also be on my agenda this coming year, especially as we have now got a digital camera to play with.
My two step-daughters Glenda and Christine, live on the beautiful island of Maui in Hawaii. My eldest daughter Michele lives in Scotland with her two daughters and granddaughter close by and my younger daughter Susan lives in Hereford with her husband and two daughters. My son Mike lives in a small market town approx. 18 miles away from us.
