Shotton Karate Club was founded on the 17th January 1990 by Gerald & Audrey Hepworth.

The first week of the club being open consisted of 25 coloured belts (KYU grades) & 55 new beginners.

Shotton Karate Club has had numerous successes in local competitions, in both kumite & kata (individual & team events)

Since the openning of the club there has being 15 Black belts awarded to individuals to date.
