The daughter of Silverthorn and Luis Aedui, Fionna is the result of their brief relationship on the isle of Paradelos. Physically the half-elven woman is 5' 8" in height with a slim build. Her thick blonde hair and blue eyes she inherited from her father. She was brought up on the trading isle of Paradelos, where her father was governor, with no knowledge of her mother who had left just after she was born. She was merely told that her mother had been different but not in what way. It became apparent quite how many of her mother's differences she had inherited as she grew older. Unlike her contemporaries she gave the appearance of ceasing to age and at the age of forty looked the same as she had when she was about 18 years old. The result of this is that when her father died she had very few strong links with the people of the island of her birth and so, when given the pendant belonging to her mother in her father's will, she decided to set out to find out who she was.

A chance encounter at the Dragon's Inn with a fair-haired elf called Bran led to her meeting her mother as this elf turned out to be her uncle. Fionna was deeply confused as she had been brought up to believe that creatures such as elves with merely myths. Although she gets on well with her uncle, Fionna's relationship with Silverthorn has been rocky. Her mother was not happy about Fionna's reappearance in her life as the girl reminded her too much of the pain and anger she felt at the time of her birth. After many arguments and a lot of heartache on both sides their relationship has now stabilised to a certain extent but there is still a certain amount of distance between them.

Fionna is in general a reasonably friendly personality, although recent troubles have taken their toll on her sunny disposition. Her first lover, Rein D Shiril, chose to abandon her when she became pregnant as he viewed her and the child as a hindrance. Not long after she also lost the child. Captured in the wars on Corin by Tallin Modar, she was gifted to Haldanaru and only released in exchange for An'Thaya D'Riel. Her second relationship was with Jacen Macleod, but that ended when his alter-ego The Dark Knight captured and tortured her. Whilst she does not blame him for this, he is too similar in appearance to her torturer for her to be comfortable in his presence. Her burgeoning relationship with Lord Tobin Black of Corin helped to healed the wounds inflicted by events, bringing the smile to her face once more as a mutual love of the sea deepened into something more, the pair recently marrying.

She is not happy about killing and so her weapon of choice is the quarterstaff. Recently she has discovered she possesses the Badb Catha ability to shapeshift into raven form. She is still finding out what other traits she may have inherited from the elven branch of her family and is only just learning what sort of magical abilities she possesses.
