Here's the line up of Tottenham retro cars at the recent race meeting at the North London Club.

Here are some of the drivers (left picture), with Bob Hallums - a Tottenham open winner way back when - in the center of the picture. Note the 1962 Silverstone picture behind Ian Fisher. The right picture shows that the North London track is a bit tight compared with the aide open spaces of Tottenham's king track.
This shows the underside of all the cars - the full sidewinder chassis (at the front on yellow lane) has an original scrutineering sticker still attached! This has a 26 Thorp armature, and is amazingly brakeless by modern standards. Ian Fisher let me try this car on the Vauxhall track a few weeks ago, I seemed to need to brake unbelievably early, and when I switched to the inline car and braked in the same place it came to a halt about 2 feet before the corner!
Here are top and bottom view of an 888 chassis - a typical plumber on the drop arm design. Note the "clonker" front axle - lots of sideways movement there!
This is Mick Kerr's car with spring steel chassis, a very (heavy) period Mura motor, and a superb Gulf Porsche 917 paint job on a Betta shell.
Below is John Secchi's retro final winner. Another plumber on the drop arm chassis - this time with big cutouts in the brass pans - and a Champion C can motor. The paint job (on a Betta McLaren M6) is typical of the airbrushed fade paint schemes frequently seen at Tottenham in the early 70s. The transparent air dams aid performance, although the effect must be fairly small on a car of that weight!
