A small but growing collection of the cast of Hawaii Five-0On page 3 of this collection you will find my autographed picture of Tom Selleck AKA Magnum PI. He was never affiliated with Hawaii Five-0 although there were references to Five-0 on Magnum PI. I wanted to keep this pic up for public viewing so I will apologize for any confusion its appearance here may cause. 1 , 2, 3 ,4, 5
A Christmas Special I want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your kind comments and repeat visits to my humble little website. In the past when I have made cards for the Fan Club's E-list I tried to out-do the writers at Hallmark. This year, I honestly don't know what to say except that as the world spins apart we need to put aside our differences and hold on to each other lest somebody get lost in the vortex. I wish you malu (peace)
Planet Hollywood Waikiki These are photos of several Jack related items on display there. Most of the items there seem to be rather permanent though the DR NO gun has disappeared. While I have included locations of the items in the ALT tags if on your trip you don't see it, look around they do rotate the stock. If the staff says they have never heard of the item keep looking they don't always know what's what. The upstairs bartender I found to be the most knowledgeable.
'Everybody was Kung Fu Fighting....'This is a series of contact prints taken I assume as part of a promo for the episode To Hell With Babe Ruth. The weapon is called a sai and come in lengths ranging from 17 to 24 inches in length. With his height I would imagine these to be the 24 inch ones. At first look it appears that poor Jack's gi had an unfavorable reaction with the dryer but this is the traditional Okinawian style. Given that, I would venture to say that the kata being taught is Shuri-Ryu style. These were literally taken in his back yard while my dojo is 40 miles away. Must be nice...........
Jack Lord Memorial The long awaited Jack Lord statue is now a reality. These photos are from the dedication June 19, 2004. Warning: These are the full size pictures and take FOREVER to load but well worth the wait.
Rodeo Days After the Stoney Burke series ended Jack spent a year on the rodeo circuit appearing as the 'cancelled cowboy'. This section features programs and the promo ad announcing his availibility for such events. As I come into possession of more of these they will be added under this heading so check regularly.
Duh! This is an article from the TV STAR Annual May 1973 issue which features famous TV detectives of the era. The first sentence reads: "DAN McGarrett was a hard cop to figure out." Was this Steve's long lost twin brother or what? Danno-2 where are you???
An alternative to the NFL Photos of Jack's 1938 high school football team. I am not certain what position that he played although I think it was left tackle. What ever he played, he did it well enough to obtain a scholarship to NYC University. To this day he is the only football player from there to have a fine arts degree.
Western Caricatures These shadow drawings were space fillers in a magazine article. They don't fit amongst the photographs and are too good to just leave out. So, not knowing what else to do with them, I made them their own page. :-) Enjoy.
Rare Candid Photos This series of photographs belonging to Mike Timothy was found in the glovebox (back in the days when such was actually a storage facility rather than a mere access panel) of the 1968 Mercury when he took possession of it. Note the guy standing on the trailer roof-some folks will go to great extremes in order to get their shot.
At long last the photo is complete! I have had this photo which had been signed by Jack years ago sitting, albeit rather prominently since it is one of only a few autographs that I have. :) Every time I saw it it practically screamed at me 'I'm only half done!'.Well now it has been signed by both and up for your enjoyment. The photo itself is not one of my favorites but the signing makes it special. So its out of the book and into a frame for this one. Only thing is I also took another one of my photos of the pair with me to Knoxville which James MacArthur was nice enough to sign for me as well. And now it can *never* be completed. Arrrgggh! (the above link to Knoxville is not working yet so please don't crush your mouse key in frustration. Stay tuned here for my travel log from the AdventureCon2)
MAD, the hilarious magazine of our pre-teen years, did a spoof of Five-0. Check out the antics of "McGarrish" and "Dummy Williams". I took the liberty of color coding the balloons to make following the dialog easier. Enjoy. An interesting thought: this came out in March of 1971 and the episode Draw Me A Killer did not air until September of 1973. Did the idea for that episode come from this?
A picture of the back plate off of Jack's white caddy. I was hesitant to put this one up lest someone think that I was the fiend who snatched his plate years ago. Even though I think the statute of limitations is long up for the petty theft; I DIDN'T DO IT!
This is a sketch of Jack from the Playgirl articleThis is the infamous "Lord of the Islands" article which was subtitled in big pink letters "He seems,in fact, very strange.". A very condescending article but this sketch taken out of its original context is beautiful.
A Filmography A listing of Jack's other appearances on both the big and small screen. As screen captures become available they will be posted here.
Be There, Aloha A link to the article about our adventures in the land of Five-0. This is an article that Kathy and I wrote for the club's newsletter.
McGarrett poses for the centerfold! "...My blood ran cold. My angel was the centerfold...." I found this 16x20 full- page photo in an old British magazine and the words to that song came to mind. Ladies in the McGarrett@Yahoogroups-this one's for you ;)
