| SCOTTISH PREMIER LEAGUE PREDICTION LEAGUE (SPLPL) 2005/2006 - Summary Week 38 |
SPL – Saturday 6th May, 2006
Champions Celtic had to settle for a point at Pittodrie. Gordon Strachan's men have had the title sewn up since before the split and are worthy champions especially given their poor start to the season. Many people wanted to see Gordon Strachan turfed out after only a few games and he has proved his critics wrong after strolling to the title despite a strong challenge from Hearts. Aberdeen finished the season strongly and almost pipped fourth place from Hibs.
Despite Hearts going down 2-0 to Rangers at the weekend there fans were the ones celebrating. The Jambos secured the 2nd Champions League spot at the expense of Rangers during the week. They also have a cup final this weekend against Gretna. Alex McLeish now bows out for Rangers with Paul Le Guen coming in to replace him. Despite Hibs going down 3-1 at Kilmarnock they finished the season in fourth place but there has been some speculation that Tony Mowbray may be heading south to fill the vacant Boro' job.
Livingston, after a late comeback, will be relegated to the First Division with Pearse Flynn, Chairman, admitting that half the players at the club will face the axe. It has been a long and disappointing season for the Lions and had John Robertson been hired a bit earlier then things may have turned out differently. Fortunately for Dunfermline, Falkirk and Dundee United that was not the case. |
| SPLPL Summary - WEEK 38 Celtic fan Pat Coffield produced a fine performance in the last week. He was the only predictor scoring double-figures as he amassed 11 points. A good result for John Cumming although he finished third in the weekly results his performance was enough to propel him into second place in the SPLPL although he couldn't catch James Buckley who takes the title. | SPLPL Summary - WEEK 37 A high scoring week in week 37. Matthew Garrow took the plaudits with 13 points. It was enough to put him in touching distance of his old man but unfortunately he couldn't bridge the gap in the final week. See below for the weekly winners and losers:-

| SPLPL Summary - WEEK 36 A surprisingly low-scoring week with six points being enough to win the weekly honours. Only one predictor, Jambo Sooz (Susan Lambert), managed to gain this tally. It has been a disappointing season for the Hearts fan but at least things on the pitch have been a bit brighter. See below for the weekly winners and losers:-
