Stillington's Golden Jubilee Celebrations

Scarecrow Trail : To identify as many Scarecrows that you can find. Application forms can be collected from the Post Office, the Garage, the 3 village pubs or Stillington Sports and Social Club. Completed forms to be handed in to the Post Office or the Garage not later than 6th June.

Decoration of Village: Please decorate your own homes and gardens.

 

Friday 31st May

Children’s activities at the Primary School

10.00am to 12 noon Exhibition of Jubilee Memorabilia & 1.00pm to 5.00pm in the Infant Classroom

 

Saturday 1st June

10.00am to 12 noon Exhibition of Jubilee Memorabilia in the infant Classroom at the Primary School

2.00pm Parade of local historic vehicles, village floats and all children and adults from Village Hall up North Back Lane to the Pond

Children’s Pageant at the Castle round the Pond

Garden Party on the top Green

8.00pm to midnight Dance with Dog House band at the Sports & Social Club

 

Sunday 2nd June

10.30pm Joint Special Service in Church Hymns, Readings and Prayers led by Stan Naylor

3.00pm to 4.00pm Collection of homemade cakes, buns, etc round the Village by Double Decker Bus. The Village Hall will be open to receive food & drinks.

6.30pm Service in Chapel led by Rev Jeff Thomas

 

Monday 3rd June

1.30pm Parade of local historic vehicles, village floats and all children and adults from the Village Hall down Main Street to the Sports and Social Club

2.00pm Sports and Games for Children & Adults at the Sports & Social Club (details on next page)

4.30pm Village Party for All on the Green (in Village Hall if wet).

5.30 pm Village Photograph to be taken at the Party

Presentation of Winners’ Sports Medals

Presentation of Jubilee Mugs to all children aged 11 years & under who live in Marton and Stillington Parishes or go to the Village School.

 

Tuesday 4th June

7.00pm Entertainment for all at Sports and Social Club including Children’s Dance and Songs section.
