Ireland, UK <p>St Marys is situated at the southern end of the village of Portaferry, on the Windmill Hill, overlooking Strangford Lough and the Irish Sea. There is a footpath from the village to the school, a distance of less than a quarter of a mile. There is a regular bus service from the village to the school for those living outside the statutory distance for walking distance. <p>The present enrolment of compulsory school age children is 238 with 13 full-time members and one part-time member of staff. The maximum intake, as set down by DENI, is 54. The Nursery Unit offers 26 free part-time places.
