I worked as a journalist with the national dailies (The Hindustan Times, The Statesman and The Tribune) and the international media. In 2004 I was selected as a  Mentor/Trainer with the BBC World Service Trust.

Recently I have taken up an assignment with a national NGO and am mentoring a project to improve the quality of education in government primary schools.

I am on the Visiting Faculty of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication for the past seven years teaching journalism to postgraduate students, and also development journalism to mid-career journalists/officials from SAARC, Eastern Europe, Latin American and African countries.

I have organized workshops for the World Bank and the UNICEF.

I am interested in Nature conservation. For five years I was Consultant to the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-India) until the year 2000.

I am International columnist and a member of the editorial board of an American blog --- The Moderate Voice.
