I'm an ordinary bloke with wife and kid who wanders the world in search of a niche without too much compromise if I can help it.  Born in Singapore, I have lived and worked in the USA, Germany, France, Brunei and currently the UK.  I am fluent in French, English and Chinese.

I am a keen amateur musician and play the classical guitar and the guqin (a 7-string Chinese zither). Sportswise I am a keen sailor and winfsurfer and luckily my son has just taken up sailing too.  My wife sort of tolerates it all.  Her own thing is ceramics. I am interested in Asian and Western philisophy, history and culture and have travelled widely.

My friends and family are all different and don't belong in a set so they can't all sit down to the same dinner table.  They include musicians, wind freaks (sailors and windsurfers), businessmen, school and army buddies, various unclassifiables and of course lots of dead people (they left behind wonderful ideas in books, poetry, painting, architecture).
