The SA saloons use an all steel 4-door shell mounted on a separate steel chassis. Power plant based on the Wolesley 18/80 Six, which was so tall they had to horizontal dash pots on the downdraught carbs. to keep the bonnet line low. Luxury fittings included a sliding head, opening windscreen, rear window blind, veneer with inlay dash and door cappings , adjustable steering column and leather upholstery. The chassis used spring shackles instead of MG's traditional sliding trunion arrangement. The SA also incorporated the Jackall four point built in hydraulic jacking with a central lubrication system. Engine 747 cc four cylinder. 17 bhp. Transmission three speed manual. The Austin Seven was a British institution in the 1920s and 1930s and brought affordable motoring to the British public. The seven could reach 50 mph and the chassis was the basis for such cars as Avon and the Swallow. Before the last car was produced in 1939 more the 290000 Sevens had been built by Austin. When first introduced in 1923 the Seven was initially on sale at £165. As a testimony to the design, the Seven engine later found a further use in Reliant three wheelers. The Ruby remained in production until Austin ceased production of the 7 completely in March 1939 - 32,000 Rubys were built between 1937 and 1939. With its fully-enclosed body and four- wheel rod-operated Girling brakes, The Ruby offered much more refinement the basic 7 of 15 years earlier. However, the weight of the car had grown to nearly 13cwt. In order to offset this weight increase, Austin improved the output of the three bearing engine to produce17 bhp. Speed 50 Year 1932. The L2 Magna has a straight-6, overhead cam engine borrowed from the new MG / Wolseley Hornet. This 1,087cc unit was capable of propelling the two-seater to a blistering 75mph from only 41bhp. The L2 is strictly a two-seater, as the L1 was capable of carrying four passengers. The L Magna had the 12in. brakes that were also being used on the MG J2.1244 cars produced in 2-seater and 4 seater open and closed configurations between 1931 and 1932. A very popular car, it remained in production with only minor alterations until 1927. Engine 4 cylinders, detachable Ricardo designed turbulent head, 75 mm bore, 130 mm stroke, 2297 cc. A right hand gate change three-speed box integral with the engine. The engine produced some 43 bhp and was capable of propelling the M type at 55mph returning 30 mpg. Rod operated brakes were fitted. Equipped with a three-bearing 21bhp engine driven through a four-speed box, the 10/4 was steadily improved over the three distinct body shapes (Cambridge, Litchfield and Sherborne) the basic chassis had bolted to it during it seven-year production run. In 1921 Hans Ledwinka, directed the design of a new automobile for the masses. The T11 was adapted to the poor roads in Eastern-Europe and to meet the needs of customers, be simple to operate and maintain and have a good fuel-economy. The new design used a front-mounted horizontally opposed air-cooled two-cylinder boxer engine of 1056 cc and 8,8 kW (12 HP) giving the car a top speed of 60-70 km/h. Rochet Schneider was one of the first companies in France to put a petrol engined car onto the market, in 1894, and soon built a reputation for well-built reliable cars which lasted until the end of passenger car production in 1932.Though there were no more Rochet Schneider cars after 1932 the company made lorries and buses until 1951 when the were taken over by fellow Lyons firm Berlier The Wolseley 25 was the largest member of the Wolseley range for many years, being produced from 1938 until 1948. The 25 offered an alternative to Armstrong Siddley, Rover, Austin and Humber buyers looking for a large saloon/limousine type car. Despite its traditional, almost elderly appearance the 25 (so called due to its 25hp) produced nearly 110bhp thanks to its twin SU carburettors giving the car fair performance. The 25's body was a formal limousine type built on a 141" wheelbase separate chassis.
