Sketch: |
| Newly appointed priest in a small
German town runs into exotic prostitute Magdalene. He
tries to help her, make a new life for her, and in the
middle of this...falls in love. Priest struggles with
this situation versus his vow to God. Political forces
in the town falsely accuse the priest of sexual
misconduct in order to get rid of him. Somehow, during
all of this activity, the priest finds time to help
local schoolteacher Franz Gruber compose the Christmas
hymn "Silent Night."
|
| Is she in it much? |
| Practically the entire film.
|
| When should I watch out
for her? |
| Near the beginning.
|
| Well known co-stars: |
| I recognized no one, but David
Warner, who plays the evil baron, has done tons of
stuff. He appears in the remake of "Planet of the
Apes" (2001)
|
| And
is it any good? |
| It's average. Not horrible, but
certainly not memorable. It's interesting to see
Nastassja as a feisty prostitute in the beginning,
where she shows a little bit of a rebellious side,
versus her usual role as the demure damsel in distress
(which she evolves into as the movie progresses).
