my school's emblemYou are going to meet a teacher of English and German who works at a secondary school in Luhansk, Ukraine. I am also a translator from these languages. My family consists of my wife Irene, our daughter Kate and me. We have a cat Yasha who was born in June 2000. We live on the top floor in a three-room apartment on the southern outskirts of Luhansk in a picturesque place called "medical compound". I am fond of traveling and have already visited Germany ten times, among them six times as an interpreter, and have got good friends there. Also, I had a chance of visiting the United States in the fall of 1999 as a national winner of the "Partners in Education",a US-Ukraine teachers exchange program administered by the American Councils for International Education. I spent almost a month at Notre Dame Academy, a private Catholic school in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

I am interested in the British history, vexilology, arts (painting) and I like to exchange letters and messages with my pen-friends abroad. I like to read and to recite poems in Ukrainian and in English.
My wife Irene and I are of the same age and we came from the same town in Lugansk region. Irene was a nurse and now she is a biologist and a laboratory doctor at the regional toxicological laboratory. Our daughter Kate is 21 years old, she graduated from the foreign languages lyceum in Luhansk and now studies psychology at Shevchenko National University in Luhansk.
We have a grandson Daniel who was born in December 2007. We like to spend our spare time together visiting our parents and friends, going for a walk to what we call "our ravine" and "our lake", watching television, reading books and mastering the computer.
We adore our cat Yasha who is a source of joy for us every day. We go to the Russian Orthodox church, especially on holidays such as Christmas and Easter. We like to see new performances at our Russian Drama Theatre.
Our friends live in the same apartment house and also downtown. We often celebrate our holidays together and help each other where we can.We are thankful to our friends abroad who think of us as we do of them. Our dream is to make a nice trip to a beautiful place abroad together some day.
