With no official League Championship or Tables we brought in the Friendly
Trophy as a way for all players in the Under 8s to receive a trophy and have a
fun day with final type matches and a trophy presentation for all to enjoy and
we just hope all goes well and fun is had by all this Sunday.
Under 9s League Cup Final
10.30am Sky Blue Diamonds
v Super Mighty
Maroons
It has been a
super season for the Sky Blue Diamonds who were crowned
Outright League Champions last Sunday and ended the league season as
top goal scorers throughout our league.
They have been missing popular goalkeeper Ben due to injury for a while now
but they are hoping to have him back between the posts for this big game.
Dean and his team have done brilliantly but they did fail to win in their last
three league games so they should come into this Final hungry to get back
on the winning trail.
The
Super Mighty Maroons have had a very decent season themselves and
in addition to this Cup Final appearance they also have a place in the
Play-Off Match for Outright Second Position to look forward to.
That is because they finished in a highly creditable second position in
Season One.
On top of that they have finished the league season with two
victories and come into this match in fine form after a fantastic win just
last Sunday over the Wallington Lions.
This should be a match well worth watching as despite the Sky Blue Diamonds
coming into it as favourites on paper after four out of four league victories
over the Super Mighty Maroons two of those wins were just by a single goal
and it is the Maroons who are coming to this match on the back of two recent
wins. Of course the main thing about this is it is a one off Cup Final and all
is to play for so let's hope it is a match to remember.
Under 10s League Cup Final
12pm Woodcote Dynamos
v Henry Athletic
This looks to be a very open match looking at the
facts and figures and having
seen both teams in action recently.
The
Woodcote Dynamos have had a super season and in addition to this
Cup Final they have a Runners-Up Play Off Match to look forward to also
as they finished in second position for Season Two.
They have been an exciting team to watch throughout the season and
are one of only two teams to hold a victory over their Cup Final opponents
Henry Athletic.
Steve has a super side who apart from their wonderful form in the Under 10s
League also had a super training match victory over an Inters team earlier
in the season.
Their goals scoring record is super too as they were joint top scorers for
Season One and top scores for Season Two.
What
a super season it has been for Henry Athletic, in addition to being
crowned Outright League Champions they are in this Cup Final and have
the third best points record throughout our league.
On paper they have the superior league record over their Cup Final opponents
but they know that this will be a tough match between two exceptional teams.
They have talent throughout the squad and first season manager Jason has
done a fine job with his super side.
They too have scored freely this season and were joint top scorers in
Season One and joint second highest scorers for Season Two.
The league record between these two sides is a close one with two
victories for Henry Athletic, One for Woodcote Dynamos and a draw.
This looks set to be a closely matched final and should be one well worth
watching.
Inters League Cup Final
11.30am Vipers
v Wasps
This should be a cracking final between two lively
sides who can really
attack at speed and hopefully I will not be putting a curse on the game
when I say I do expect a few goals here.
The Vipers
should come into this one in a good mood after assuring
themselves of the Outright Runners-Up spot in the Inters League last
Sunday.
They had a tough time against the Blue Sundays but dug deep for an
important win and finished the season only losing one of their last
seven league outings.
The Vipers had a fine defensive record conceding just 21 goals throughout
their 20 league matches.
Steve had done a super job in his first season managing in the Inters and
whatever the result in this game they have much to be proud of.
It has been an up and down season for
the Wasps but this Cup Final
outing means that ultimately it has been a successful one with a
guaranteed trophy and they have played some super football at times too.
They had a very good third place in the league for Season One and at
times have really hit form including one super 8 goal win over Blue Sundays.
Peter and Paul have done a super job with their talented squad and
although they come into this game after a tough last league outing
maybe the team had one eye on this final already and hopefully they
will be up for this big game.

This should be an exciting final and one to
recommend to all neutrals.
Mains League Cup Final
10am Real Maroon
v Royal Dynamos
Of
all the finals today this looks like being the tightest but then again after
writing that what's the betting that we have a run away winner, only time
will tell.
Real Maroon have had a super season under final season manager Andy
and although finishing second in both halves of the season they end up
without a league trophy but deservedly in a cup final.
They have talent in the younger and older age groups and although
they have had some great results along the way they have just failed to
catch fire. In some games they looked like scoring a hatful of goals but
it just never came but saying that they only lost 3 games throughout the
season and the defensive record has been superb. They have conceded
just 18 goals in 20 league matches which is a low total to be proud of.
They have a team loaded with National Squad members past and present
and with the Midfield Maestro himself at the helm they are in with a big
chance of glory.
Royal Dynamos also have had a super season and finished first in Season One
which has guaranteed them a place in the Play-Off final against the Scorpions.
They were unbeaten in Season One and have lost a total of just 3 games
in those 20 league outings. They have only conceded just 21 goals too which
is also something to be proud of.
They too have National Squad members past and present and are a superb
side and they too have a master at the helm in Mr Cool himself Chris Lynam.
Chris is one of the quiet guys of our league but never a man to under
estimate and his teams always win something. Chris like Andy is in his last
season with us and both will be sorely missed.

A glance at the
above results table shows just how close it is between
these two talented sides and hopefully it will be a spectacle for all to enjoy.
Whatever game you decide to watch this Sunday why not come a little earlier
or stay a little later to lend support to some other teams as it will be greatly
appreciated.
Have fun and enjoy your football.
Don't forget to send in a report if you can or just some facts for us to try and
cobble one together for you.
