That’s right, West of the Moon is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a team sealed tournament!! For those of you who have never participated, team sealed is probably the most enjoyable way of playing magic as this gives you the chance to play with two of your best friends!

What: Team Sealed Champions of Kamigawa
Where: Chester Arms
When: Sunday 28th, 12:30 registration, 1 o’clock start [sharp]
How much: £29 per team This will get you two starter packs and four boosters of Champions. That will mean that there will be six boosters per team in prize support!!

As most of you maybe aware, Magic’s new “wacky” set, Unhinged, is being released this coming weekend. For those of you who are interested in going to the actual pre-release, The Place for Games will be hosting a quality event in Stokenchurch on Saturday and in Reading on Sunday. West of the Moon will be getting product in and will be giving you the option of drafting it next Thursday [25th]. We will be hosting multiple pods, each for Champions and for Unhinged. Payment will be the normal £9 or boosters. For the Unhinged draft, the prizes will be in Unhinged boosters.

I should point out that we will NOT accept Unhinged boosters for any payment methods as we only accept LEGAL sets.
Additionally, to stop people land drafting, at the start of each pack opening we will ask that everyone remove the land and we will distribute them afterwards. This is to make sure that everyone gets a chance to receive lands.

With this weekend just gone, a group of West of the Moon regulars went and participated in the PTQ Nagoya tournament hosted by The Place for Games.

I’m proud to announce that Oxford continues to put in some strong contenders. Both Chester Cheng and Adam Dent fighting strongly and only missing out on the narrowest of tie breakers to miss out on the top eight. Kier was fortunate enough to go all the way and emerged the champion of the event.

As promised we'll be running a Standard Constructed tournament for Lord Of The Rings on Saturday 4th December. Admission will be £5 with a prize pool of 2.5 Shadows booster packs per player.

West of the moon is proud to announce that we have booked a new venue for playing magic!!

As the club has grown substantially in the last two years, we have seen us taking up more and more space at the Chester Arms. While the pub is great, cheap and has a wonderful atmosphere, we believe that we were taking up too much space to viably continue staying there.

The club has got to a size that needs a larger venue in order to fit everyone in comfortably. I'm proud to say that we have booked and confirmed our new venue! From now on, West of the Moon will be based at Lakeside Centre, Lake st, Oxford. It is just off Abingdon Road, the street is opposite the entrance to the Four Pillars Hotel and the centre is at the end of the road on the right.

Please ensure you get to the venue by 7:30 pm.
