BILL DUNGEY'S WEB PAGES * It is with
great sadness that I report that my Step Father, Bill Dungey, passed away on
Friday 3rd September 2004
due to an aggressive brain tumour.
It was one of his last wishes that this
website be maintained as he had spent so much time and effort creating it and
by judging from the comments in the left
in the Guestbook, it has been a useful resource for so many of you.
Bill leaves behind a wealth of local
military knowledge and information, only a fraction of which has made it into
these web pages. It is our hope
that aside from keeping the website maintained, we may even be able to expand
the
site in the future, drawing on the information Bill never had chance to
publish.
In the last few months of his life, Bill
was heavily involved with the charity 'Hammer Out'. They are an
organisation
who raise funds and awareness, and give support to people with brain tumours
and their carers.
If you wish to find out more about the charity, or you would like to make a
donation to this very worthwhile cause,
please visit the Hammer Out website by
clicking this link.

On Father's day 2004, we did a sponsored 5
mile wheel chair push from Shirehampton to Pill and back, entitled
'Take Bill to Pill'. This was publicised in the Bristol Evening Post and
raised over £4000 for 'Hammer Out'

Welcome to my web pages. Here I intend to post things of interest to myself and I hope to others around the world!
Firstly I have posted the diary which my father kept as a prisoner of war in 1918. It mostly refers to family and friends but I think is worth posting as it is a interesting insight into the mind of a 20 year old of the time, his thoughts and his feelings. If you have any comments or suggestions please visit my guest book. Any comments will be welcome. Secondly I have some papers of my half brother Peter E J Dungey. Peter was in the 44th Tank Regiment in the Second World War and was captured during the North African Campaign. To me they make very interesting reading and I hope they will to you. Thirdly please visit my Photo Album which contains family photos mostly of the war era's which I will be adding to over time. Fourthly as time goes by I hope to make these pages more interesting and informative as my knowledge of HTML increases. I will add pages about my other interests which will include information on some of the local War Memorials as I am helping out with the Inventory of War Memorials which the Imperial War Museum is conducting, add links to my favourite Sites and hopefully much more. |
