Welcome to the West
Middlesex Society of Floral Art
Please feel free to browse through
our website to learn more about us
West Middlesex Society of Floral Art
was founded in April 1954 by a group of enthusiastic flower arrangers and horticulturists
with the object of stimulating the love of flowers, to encourage interest in
their arrangement to the best of advantage in the home, and elsewhere, and to
promote ties between horticulturists and floral artists to their mutual
benefit.
We are a non-racial, non-political
group and membership is open to both men and women residing within the West Middlesex and adjacent areas.
Members meet once a month at 7.30 pm
in St Peter's Hall, St Peter's Church Centre, Sumner Road, West Harrow,
usually on the fourth Monday in the month except for August and December and
Bank Holidays, to enjoy a demonstration of Flower Arranging and a social chat
over coffee in the lounge.
Membership is £20.00 per annum
payable in January, and entrance to the meetings is normally free to members,
except for special meetings usually held twice a year.
Visitors are welcome on payment of a small entrance fee.
Since the formation of the Society,
many well-known flower arrangers, teachers and demonstrators have been, and
still are members.
For the more enthusiastic, our
teachers are in contact with all the classes being held in the area, both by
the local education authority and privately.
West Middlesex Society of Floral Art
is affiliated to the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies
(NAFAS) and is part of the London
and Overseas Area.
Our more talented members have the opportunity of taking part in Exhibitions
and arranging flowers in local Churches, National Cathedrals and Historic
houses.
If you need any further information
about our meetings please feel free to contact us.
